Creating Space…Self-Care Series: Reflection
/What an incredible time to take a moment, pause, and simply reflect. As we prepare to enter into a new year, a new decade, creating the space to evaluate the past year, and prepare for the year ahead feels especially pivotal. There are many angles you can take, but for today, I’ll keep the focus anchored in self care. Honestly, I believe it’s the foundation for everything else in life anyway, but I may be biased. 😉
Check out the five questions below to help you get started.
1) What are you most grateful for?
Expressing gratitude is one of the most effective ways of boosting happiness, and plays a big role in cultivating resilience, which helps you push ahead even when the road gets challenging.
2) What important lessons did you learn this year, and how will they serve you in 2020?
Reflecting on the ways you have grown, and even the challenges you have (or are in the process) of overcoming can be particularly motivating. We can observe without judgement, and often find appreciation when we create the space to explore the circumstances more deeply.
3) How did you support your wellness goals this year, and what habits do you want to continue? What habits do you want to break?
Most of us have at least one wellness goal each year. It can be physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or even financial. They all go towards creating a feeling of satisfaction and well-being, and chances are the more effort you apply here, the better you will feel overall, and the more set up you will be to achieve your broader goals. Feeling especially motivated? Try setting one realistic goal to support each area of wellness.
4) Who made the most meaningful contributions to your year, and how can you express gratitude to them for it?
Let’s be honest. Life moves fast and sometimes the people we love most in life don’t get to hear how much we appreciate them, or how grateful we are for the role they play. Take the time to express your appreciation and it will deepen the connection, providing and even stronger network of support for each of you.
5) How can you use your skills, talent, and passion to serve others?
I believe service to others can be incredibly gratifying. If you’ve ever been a mentor, or even just volunteered for something, then you know the feeling of uplift that you get when you can support someone else in a meaningful way. I also believe in karma, and the energy that you give to the universe will be given right back to you. Why not use that energy to make a positive difference in someone else’s life?
Thank you for supporting my passion. This has been an incredible year of change for me, and even if we’ve never met, by taking the time to read this, like, comment, or share you are helping support my personal mission of connecting with others. I love when you reach out to me with your comments and direct messages. Please let the feedback coming! I’m incredibly excited for the year ahead!
Namaste…
