Creating Space…For Detachment
Creating Space for Detachment.
Even as I try and type my thoughts out tears stream down my face. I’m pressing all the wrong buttons, yet my thumbs move with frenzy and inspiration. I’m mid-meditation and Deepak’s words have pierced my soul with a sharp and wise arrow of inner knowing. I’ve been working my way through his 21 day meditation on Abundance, for the second time, and todays mediation was exactly what I needed to hear. Isn’t it funny how sometimes you can hear something for the 2nd (or 100th) time, and suddenly it just lands in a way that it hadn’t before? That was me today.
Trust The Journey
I’ve been working and working - working it out mentally, putting in the work literally, and working through it emotionally. Today I’m realizing that the one concept I’d forgotten to incorporate is Detachment. The Universe has been sending me signals for the past few days. The thoughts and ideas land gently within my inner consciousness, just a layer above my subconscious mind. Like autumn leaves gently floating down from the branches above. In a podcast, in a webinar, in a conversation. Set your intention, then surrender to the magic of the universe. Follow the process, then detach from the outcome. Work the plan, then let it unfold. All these messages were building up to this big surge of revelation I am now feeling. I don’t know about y’all, but when something rings true deep within I feel a BURST of emotion. Sometimes it’s excitement, sometimes it’s tears. This time it’s tears. I’ve listened to Deepak teach about moving from Attention to Intention to Action to Detachment, and it just hit me that I’d gotten myself all tangled up in 1, 2, and 3, and I’d forgotten about 4. TRUST the divine protection of the Universe, Trust God, Trust the Journey. Whatever lands for you.
The Universe Has Your Back
When I ask myself what has gotten in the way of detachment the answer is clear - Fear. What if it doesn’t work, what it I fail? And then a voice within gently whispers out to me… what if it works even better than you imagined. What if you still end up exactly where you were meant to be, only the path took a different route than you pictured? I look back on the last 10 years of my life and realize that I could NOT have foreseen any of what I am currently living today. Not the incredible paths all of my children are on, not the amazing learnings and experience of the work I am currently doing, not the Yoga certification, Not the life coaching, not the incredibly fulfilling marriage I am now in - None of it, yet I am feeling more fulfilled, more blessed, and more grateful than words can describe.
Focus your attention, set the intention, take action, then detach from outcome and let the Universe do the rest.
Yes, I took a pause from my meditation to follow the inspiration within. To capture this epiphany for myself, and to share it with you all in hopes that it touches you in some meaningful way. Now, back to it. Back to stillness, back to Deepak and his words on detachment. If you’d like to explore for yourself, here’s the link - Day 13.
Sending you big love!
Namaste.
